Following concerns raised to the Parish Council by residents who are experiencing issues with peacocks on their property, the Parish Clerk has raised this matter with the Trading Standards Enforcement Officer (Animal Health) at North Yorkshire Council. Ownership of the peacocks was unable to be established by the Officer despite a thorough investigation and powers to mandate the housing of the birds are only enforceable during the current Avian Flu outbreak. As such, there is no action that North Yorkshire Council or the Parish Council can take.
If any residents have concerns about the health or well-being of the peacocks they should contact the RSPCA
