Community Orchard

The Community Orchard is a Parish Council and resident led initiative in conjunction with the Grubs Up! project being run by the North York Moors National Park. Following scarifying and wildflower seed sowing earlier in the autumn, a selection of fruit trees have now been planted by a group of enthusiastic village volunteers.

Fencing and hedging are now in place and the area is open for residents to enjoy. A bench will be added later in the year.

Access to the site will be via the path at the side of the cemetery, with overhanging trees being cut back and the path cleared.

It is hoped that residents will be involved with the long term maintenance of the site, which is being created to increase biodiversity and provide an attractive, calming space for residents to enjoy.

Below are some images which will hopefully give an idea of what the orchard will look like.
