The Community Orchard is a Parish Council and resident led initiative in conjunction with the Grubs Up! project being run by the North York Moors National Park. Following scarifying and wildflower seed sowing in Autumn 2025, a selection of fruit trees have now been planted by a group of enthusiastic village volunteers.
Fencing and hedging are now in place and the area is open for residents to enjoy. A bench will be added later in the year.
Access to the site is via the path at the side of the cemetery.
It is hoped that residents will be involved with the long term maintenance of the site, which has been created to increase biodiversity and provide an attractive, calming space for residents to enjoy.
