Vacancy for Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer

Lockton Parish Council is an active Council that seeks a highly motivated, enthusiastic person to take on the post of Clerk to the Council and Responsible Financial Officer.

The post Clerk/RFO is part-time, which is a flexible 2-3 hours per week, with a contractual 10 hours per month, and a working from home requirement.

Attendance is required at Parish Council meetings which are normally every 6-8 weeks and are usually a 2-hour evening meeting in Lockton, and possibly other meetings as required.

Salary is in accordance with the National Joint Council recommendations dependent upon qualifications and experience. Indicative hourly rate will be minimum £15.56 per hour, with a working from home allowance of £6 per week (non-taxable) and 20 days annual holiday excluding Bank Holidays.

Ideally the candidate will be IT literate, able to use the Microsoft Office suite and other systems as required. Computer equipment/printer will be provided.

Duties will include acting as advisor to the council, which involves understanding the relevant and latest parish legislation, preparation of the meeting agendas, minute taking, dealing with correspondence, filing and accounts. This is in addition to being the Responsible Financial Officer to the council and identifying and applying for community grants.
