The government is currently consulting on alternative low carbon heating options. For households in rural parishes many such homes may not be easy to convert to the government preferred low carbon solution (low temperature heat pumps) without significant cost and disruption.
OFTEC are asking for input, particularly from those who use oil heating. The closing date for submitting any views is 10th February.

Residents can now pay for their licence for the 2026 garden waste collection service.
A licence costs £52 for collections between March and early December. The licence covers one 240-litre wheelie bin to be emptied fortnightly. Anyone who wants to have more than one bin emptied will need to pay for a licence for each additional bin.
